The K-5 Math Project

Achievement Essentials Math transforms K-5 math learning through professional learning for principals, teachers, and paraeducators. Our program builds deep mathematical understanding by focusing on the connection and alignment of big ideas, conceptual understanding, real-world application, and procedural fluency.

Unless your district is a National anomaly, your students are likely struggling in math. We are sharing information from teachers who consistently had 80-90% of their students meet or exceed standard in state tests every year.  They didn’t have any secret formulas for this – just clear vertical alignment and dedication to consistently making decisions about what strategies and practices actually worked.

Each of the Achievement Essentials K-5 Math Project webinars comes with a simple user guide to support your principals and teachers.

The math content instructional videos are 3-5 minutes long each. They would be perfect to use in a paraeducator training. We would suggest watching a video together and then providing a few minutes of table talk and applying the learning to similar problems.

The Achievement Essentials K-5 Math Project offers webinars that are provided specifically around the work of the principal. We believe that principals should also be watching the teacher and paraeducator components so they can understand and support the work they are asking their staff to do.
